A study on direct and sensitized photocleavage mechanism of substituted diaryliodonium salts

The title mechanism has been studied by the transient and stationary method. The electron transfer process plays an important role in both reactions. The formation of substituted benzene derivatives at the beginning of photocleavage reaction is a key step for the subsequent reaction. In the sensitized photocleavage reaction, chlorothioxanthenone was used as an electron donor.
