Recent Advances in Ring Closing Metathesis Reaction

Recent advances in ring closing metathesis (RCM) reactionand its catalysts, including ene-yne metathesis reaction are reviewed. The functional compatibilities of some well-defined metathesis catalysts, inparticular the Schorck molybdenum-based catalysts and the Grubbs' ruthenium-based catalyst are summarized. The application of the RCM reaction in the synthesis of some heterocycles and nature products are also highlighted.
