Peptide-based organocatalysts and peptide-ligated transition metal catalysts are reviewed in the context of asymmetric catalysis. The structures, activities, and mechanisms of these catalysts are described in detail. Furthermore, we also survey the methods that are developed to screen library of peptides in the search of active catalysts.
