Synthesis of Chiral 4-Dimethylaminopyridine Analogue 2-(4-Dimethylaminopyridin-2-yl)cyclohexanol

Chiral 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) analogue (1R,2S)-2-(4-dimethylaminopyridin-2-yl)- cyclohexanol can be conveniently synthesized via reduction, amination and resolution with p-toluoyl-L-tar- taric acid from the readily available known 2-(4-chloropyridin-2-yl)cyclohexanone as starting material.
