Synthesis of Nine Kinds of New Multidentate Salen Ligands

Nine kinds of new salen ligands were synthesized by Mannich condensation without catalyst. Compounds 1 and 2 were synthesized under solvent-free condensations. Compounds 3a～3g are the new salen ligands with furan rings, which could provide coordination modes to metal ions. The chemical structures of the title compounds were characterized by elementary analysis, IR, ¹H NMR and MS techniques. Compounds 1 and 3b were identified by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
