A survey of investigations on chemistry and applications of gossypol and its derivatives

Abstract

This article reviews the following developments of gossypol in the last decades, consisting the elucidations of steric stuctures and tautomerisms of gossypol and its derivatives, the separations of some of their isomers, and the syntheses of some new compounds related to gossypol. This paper also describes thc possible applications of gossypol and its derivatives in industry, agriculture, medicine, birth control and metal anaIyses.
