Thioflavin T-Based Fluorescent Probe for Visual Detection of Hg2+

A thioflavin T-based fluorescent probe was synthesized by using o-aminobenzenethiol and copper reagent as raw materials. The results showed that it exhibited relatively high sensitivity and selectivity to Hg2+, and the common metal ions hardly interfered in the determination. The probe could be used for the visual detection of Hg2+ and applied to image intracelluar Hg2+ in living Hela cells.
