  Racemic α-all-carbon quaternary aldehydes have been kinetically resolved through the asymmetric allylation of aldehydes using (R)-3,3'-bis(2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl)- 1,1'-binaphthyl-2,2'-diylhydrogenphosphate by Chen, He, Wang, Jia, Liu and Huang on page 4294. And thus chiral aldehydes and homoallylic products were both available in good to high yields and enantioselective excess (with an s-factor up to 37.0).

  A novel turn-on fluorescent probe (NPHQ) based on naphthalimide constructed to detect H₂S are reported by Zhou, Peng, Liang, Wu, Shu and Yu on page 4277. The nucleophilic effect of H2S induced the decomposition of naphthoquinone structure, resulting in the disappearance of photo-induced electron transfer of NPHQ and recovery of intramolecular charge transfer of naphthalimide. NPHQ was proved to have high selectivity and sensitivity for the detection of H₂S in solution and gas.

  A series of organic salt fluorescent materials with specific functions, such as nitrogen heterocyclic aromatic onium salts, quaternary ammonium salts, quaternary phosphonium salts, and hydrazone salts are reviewed by Wang, Wang, Wang, Qian, Zhou and Zheng on page 4147. Among them, the focus is on their molecular de-sign, luminescence principles, and the latest research progress.

  A variety of 1,3-disubstituted-1,3-dihydroisobenzofuran derivatives were synthesized by tin-powder promoted tandem allylation/oxa-Michael addition reaction of o-formyl chalcones with various allyl bromides in one-pot process by Tang, Huang, Wang, Ma, Feng, Ren, Wang and Hu on page 4227.
