The asymmetric allylation of aldehydes is one of the most important methods for preparation of chiral homoallylic alcohol, which is a building block in organic synthesis. Herein, the new developments are summarized in two directions, one of which is the chrial auxiliary controlling reaction, and the other is the catalytic asymmetric allylation reaction.
