About the Cover:A supporting electrolyte-free method for the electro-chemical synthesis of trifluoromethylated oxindoles in continuous flow was developed by Sui, Cen, Gong, Chen and Chen on page 3239. Various N-arylacrylami-des reacted with CF3SO2NHNHBoc smoothly to provide the corresponding products in moderate yields. The reaction scale-up was easily realized without changing the reaction conditions, demonstrating the application potential of continuous flow electrochemical synthesis. -
About the Cover:The new, green and recyclable cross-coupling reaction of alkenes with aryl iodides is reported by Jiang, Tang, Mao, Chen, Yu, Quan, Xu, Shi and Liu on page 3210. The Pd(OAc)2-H2O-PEG-200 system can be directly recovered and used for more than three cycles without any loss of activity, demonstrating the robustness of the carrier-free palladium catalyst system. -
About the Cover:A cobalt-catalyzed annulation of the C(sp2)—H/N—H bond of 3-indolecarboxamides with alkynes assisted by 8-aminoquinoline has been developed by Bei, Pan, Ran, Liu, Yang and Feng on page 3226. A variety of alkynes, such as terminal, internal alkynes and diynes were all tolerated to this transformation, affording the γ-carbo- linones in good yield and high selectivity.
