π-bis(benzene)chromium(o) catalyzed copolymerization of perfluorobut-2-yne and perfluoropropylene

\P\-Bis(benzene)chromium(0) could catalyze the copolymerization of perfluorobut-2-yne and perfluoropropylene to give a liquid, a wax and a solid. The proportion of the latter two depends upon the molar ratio of two monomers used, i.e., higher ratio of perfluoropropylene gave higher proportion of wax and vice versa. The relative content of perfluoropropylene in wax or solid is determined. Pyrolytic GC-MS shows that both perfluorobut-2-yne (m/z=162) and perfluoropropylene (m/z=150) are present in either wax or solid. The copolymerization of perfluorobut-2-yne and perfluoropropylene could not achieved by F^- catalyst.
