This article describes our research results in recent years on the synthesis, molecular structure of lanthanocene amides and their applications in the polymerization of polar monomers, including methyl methacrylate, (dimethylamino) ethyl methacrylate, and phenyl isocyanate and ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone, as well. The relationship between the structures of lanthanocene amides and catalytic activities was discussed, and the polymerization mechanism was suggested.
