1-Indanones are versatile key intermediates in the synthesis of a number of biologically active compounds. The synthetic methods of 1-indanones are still updating nowadays. The development of the synthetic methods for 1-indanones is reviewed in this paper according to the cyclization sites of the compounds, and the methods developed from 2000 are introduced emphatically.
