Chemical investigation on a marine-derived fungus Talaromyces sp. F017-1-114 led to isolation of two new xanthone derivatives [8β-hydroxy-ergochrome D (1) and 4,2'-linked ergochrysin (2)], one new bisabolane-type sesquiterpene (3), and six known polyhydroxanthones [4,4'-linked secalonic acid A (4), 2,4'-linked secalonic acid A (5), 2,2'-linked secalonic acid A (6), (2S,9S,10S,2'S,9'S,10'S)-epi-blennolide H (7), talaronins F (8), degradation of the acid V (9)]. The structures of the new compounds were demonstrated by HR-ESI-MS, extensive NMR investigations, single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis with Cu Kα radiation, and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations. Among them, compounds 5 and 6 showed moderate antimicrobial activities against Ralstonia solanacearum ATCC11696 with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of 25 and 12.5 µg/mL, respectively. Compound 3 exhibited weak antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC25923 with an MIC value of 50 µg/mL.
