Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Cinnamyl Acetate Derivatives with Chiral Iridium Ferrocenyloxazolinylphosphine Complexes

A series of chiral iridium Fc-PHOX complexes were readily prepared from Fc-PHOX, [Ir(COD)Cl]2 and NaBArF in high yields, which were proved to be highly efficient catalysts for the enantioselective hydrogenation of (E)-2-methyl-3-phenylallyl acetate derivatives to afford the corresponding products with complete conversions and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99.5% ee).
