Synthesis and Immobilization of Ether-Functionalized Phosphine for Palladium-Catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura Cross-Coupling Reaction

A new ether-functionalized ferrocenyl phosphine 3 has been prepared and immobilized on Mer-rifield resin. The phosphine 3 and the polymer-supported ferrocenyl phosphine 4 have been applied in palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura reaction. These two catalytic systems can couple a range of aryl bromides with arylboronic acids to form the corresponding biaryls in excellent yields. The polymer-supported catalyst can be recycled without additional palladium.
