Baylis-Hillman reaction, which has great practical prospect, can be catalyzed by amine or phosphine. Compare to amine, phosphine has stronger nucleophilicity, so phosphine should have stronger activity. The recent progress of phosphine-catalyzed Baylis-Hillman reaction is reviewed.
