Four podophyllotoxin (1) derivatives with diols or amino alcohols, 4-O-ethylepipicropodophyllol (4), (1R,2S,3R,4S)-1-3',4',5'-trimethoxyphenyl- 2-aminomethyl-3-hydroxymethyl-4-ethoxy-6,7-methylenedioxy-1,2,3,4- tetrahydronaphthalene (5), (1R,2S,3R,4S)-1-3',4',5'-trimethoxyphenyl- 3-hydroxymethyl-2-amino-4-ethoxy-6,7-methylenedioxy-1,2,3,4- tetrahydronaphthalene (6) and 4-O-i-propylepipicropodophyllol (7) have been synthesized starting from 1. 4～7 and intermediates 8～11 are all new compounds.
