About the Cover:A series of esters were prepared by electrochemical synthesis of carboxylic acids with alcohols by Zhong, Chen, Yu, and Zhou on page 2855. This protocol can be carried out at room temperature without inert atmosphere, strong acids or metal catalyst. The esterification reaction processes in an undivided electrolytic cell with constant current mode and the esterification products are generated in good yields.

About the Cover:The recent progress in visible-light promoted transformations of organosilicon compounds is summarized by Yang, Guo and Zhou on page 2720. Under the photoredox catalytic system, organosilicon compounds could be transformed into silicon or carbon radicals to participate in a variety of reactions, such as hydrosilylation and difunctionalization of alkenes and alkynes, C—H silylation of N-aromatic heterocycles, nucleophilic addition, Minisci reaction, homolytic substitution and transition metal mediated cross-coupling reactions.

About the Cover:The research results of C—N bond breaking promoted by visible light and its application in the study of C—C bond formation reaction in recent years are reviewed by Pu, Jia, Han and Li on page 2591. In this paper, some representative examples and reaction mechanisms are discussed.
