封面介绍Xikui Jiang was born on September 5, 1926. He invented the electrophilic cycloaddition reaction of fluorinated ole-fins and sulfur trioxide, and led the team to prepare the first fluorinated rubber of China. He was awarded the National Natural Science Prize of China (first class) for his research on the aggregation of organic molecules and the establishment of the scale of spin-delocalization substituent constants of organic radicals. -
封面介绍A novel magnetoredox system for the hydrotrifluoro-methylation of alkynes using a rotating magnetic field and steel rods is reported by Liu, Zhang, Chen, Zhao, and Li on page 3659. The protocol enables the facile synthesis of CF3-substituted alkenes without requiring catalysts or additives. This approach complements exis- ting photocatalytic and electrochemical systems with good yields, high stereoselectivity, and broad functional group tolerance. -
封面介绍Chiral three- and four-membered cyclic compounds are key structural units in bioactive molecules and crucial intermediates in synthetic chemistry. The latest research progress of transition-metal (such as Ir, Ni, Rh, Ru) cat-alyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of small ring com-pounds is systematically summarized by Yang and Fang on page 3504, especially for three- and four-mem- bered ring substrates such as β-lactams, cyclobutanones, cyclobutenones, cyclobutadienones, and gem-difluoro- cyclopropenyl esters/ketones. -
封面介绍Current popular academic viewpoints on the chemical evolutionary pathways to the origin of life are summarized by Zhu and Liu on page 3293. This review can provide important references for future research on the origin of life and the search for extraterrestrial life.
