封面介绍The synthesis of aryl propionic acids from the corre- sponding alkynes and formate under nitrogen atmosphere is reported by Zhu and co-workers on page 3241. This reaction features a dual-catalysis process including a photo-catalyst and a hydrogen atom transfer catalyst, disclosing a mild and efficient method to access aryl propionic acid easily. Under photoinduced conditions, the anti-Markovnikov hydrocarboxylation of alkynes was realized with CO2 radical anion in-situ generated from formate as both a carbonyl source and a reductant.

封面介绍The recent research progress on the electrosynthesis of carboxylic acid derivatives through the carboxylation of inert bonds such as C—H, C—C, C—O, and C—F with CO2 is reviewed by Gao, Zhong, Feng, Sun, Yang, and Zhou on page 3043. In this review, the mechanisms and applications of these reactions are emphatically discussed.

封面介绍Converting CO2 into value-added chemicals or fuels is an ideal approach to achieve carbon cycling. The reduction and conversion of CO2, a pivotal aspect of C1 chemistry, have long been a subject of intense research interest. This review provides an overview of homogeneous iron-catalyzed CO2 reduction using E—H (E=H, B or Si) by Zhao and Wang on page 3106.

封面介绍The recent advancements in the photochemical conversion of CO2 under mild conditions are primarily elucidated by Yuan, Zhu, and Meng on page 2997, focusing on selective C—C bond formation reactions to afford carboxylic acids.
